September’s Volunteer of the Month Iris Spero
Iris has a daughter and two wonderful grandsons, 6 years old and 6 months old, she balances her time between family, a fulfilling career, and her volunteer work. Happily married, Iris approaches life with a robust zest for fun, snacks, and making meaningful connections. Iris’s energy and enthusiasm are truly inspiring to all who meet her.
Diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer in February 2022, Iris understands the journey and is committed to supporting others through their own. Having undergone DIEP Flap reconstruction surgery, she possesses valuable surgical knowledge and firsthand experience. This insight allows Iris to offer practical advice and empathetic support to those considering or recovering from similar procedures.
Iris absolutely loves being a part of 412Thrive, finding purpose in helping others navigate their own cancer journeys. The sense of community and support at 412 Thrive is something she deeply cherishes and is proud to contribute to.
