412Thrive President & Founding Member Cara Nash snyder

Hello! My name is Cara Nash Snyder. I reside in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with my husband Jeremy and our two young sons Hans and Jesse. We also have a mobility service dog named Oreo. Our lives are beautifully messy but full of love and gratitude. I am blessed to be surrounded by such amazingly strong, supportive people with the biggest hearts!

I am a metastatic thriver, patient advocate,  public speaker, published writer, storyteller, mom, sister, wife, and instant friend.  I share my story publicly to build community and provide education and support for those impacted by breast cancer.  I'm an ambassador for METAvivor, the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation and Hope Scarves. I am also a Peer Supporter for the Sharsheret Breast Cancer Foundation.  I have raised over a one hundred thousand dollars for non-profit organizations and for metastatic breast cancer research.

I have been serving on the 412Thrive board since it's inception in 2020 and now serve as President.  I am very passionate about our mission and have a strong desire to help others thrive during what may be the most difficult time of their lives.  The community and friendships that have evolved through 412Thrive are incredible! The connections are real and deep. A true sisterhood that I'm thrilled to witness and be a part of!

I met Sam on IG when I offered her baby stuff, I no longer needed.  Soon after, we met in person at a YWBCAF event, we instantly became friends. A bunch of us intended on going to Camp Breastie in 2020, so we wanted to plan the logistics of traveling together. She hosted to a super fun, social event at her home and 412Thrive was born!

I provided Sam with 412Thrive's very first monetary donation and supplies for making care packages. Chatting with Sam one night, I helped name the organization (my husband came up some doozies). I also was able to connect her with a graphic designer to get our logo designed pro bono. For me, it felt so good to be part of something that helps other Thrivers get through their journies while feeling supported along the way. I am extremely grateful for the amount of support I have been shown since my diagnoses, and I really wanted to pay that forward and put purpose to this journey.

My goal is to help others thrive so they can focus on healing their mind, body and soul. To help them find resources and connect them with people that understand what they are going through. We aren’t just a group for those in early stage treatment. We are here to support previvors, survivors, thrivers, caregivers and those grieving the loss of loved ones.
