November 2024 Board Meeting Notes
Motion to approve October minutes made by Bev, seconded by Jen, approved by the board
Motion to approve Sam’s unemployment made by Rachael, seconded by Jen, approved by the board
Discussion regarding how we will automatically pay our monthly bills to ensure things are paid on time. Jennifer Hisdorf has volunteered to step into the Treasurer role on an interim basis and will be talking with Jill to better understand the bills we have on a regular basis and determine how to put them on auto pay where it makes sense.
Board Structure:
During the next board meeting we will review the google documents that were submitted expressing interest in board roles and the Executive Director role.
Decision made to have no more than 7 board members (ideally 4 non-thrivers and 3 thrivers, but not required) motion made by Rachael and seconded by Jen, all voted yes. Need to determine if we need to revise the by-laws with this new vote.
Events:
Friendsgiving event in November, potentially the 17th. Potential location at the conference space in Southpointe where we have our office. Katie will investigate this option.
Caliente Pizza would like to open up their venue for us to visit, there may be an opportunity to do some fundraising with them.
Fundraising
Rachael will sign a new W-9 so we can send to organizations that need it in order to process checks for us.
12 Days of Christmas: We have enough items for the fundraiser so we will not need to purchase any. Looking to have tickets sold November 12th through December 11th and names pulled in December.
Not Your Average Holiday Parade on November 30th at 10am, sponsored by Yajagoff. They are looking to sponsor 4 Christmas scene “windows” for 4 non-profits to decorate. The windows will be on display and voted on by the public, all profits will go to the winner.
Grant update:
Grant writer and Katie are working on the Gateway fund and are asking Bev and Rachael to fill in some missing information.
We have two other potential grant opportunities that grant writer will discuss with Grant committee and keep the board posted.
